Why the name Lydia?

Lydia comes from the name of the ancient kingdom of Lydia (which was part of what is Turkey today), where the first coins were created, at the VIIe BC. The coins were made of electrum, a natural alloy of gold and silver that could be found abundantly in the river called Pactole, and which made the kingdom's fortune. The last and most famous kind of Lydia was Cresus.

We chose Lydia as a wink to the history of money.
