Money sent to a wrong bank account

Updated 1 month ago by Flore

When transferring money to a bank account from Lydia, you may think the transfer hasn't been performed at all.

First, make sure you're not worrying too soon ⏳

Bank transfers generally take 2 to 3 business days. So make sure you have sent the money at least 3 days ago before worrying.

👉If you don't want to wait that long, you can spend the money right away using Lydia contactless mobile payment or Internet card.

Then, check the beneficiary's bank account 🧐

To do so,

  1. Go to the 4th tab of the app
  2. Click on "IBANs and beneficiaries"
  3. Look for the bank account you've sent the money to
  4. Double-check its IBAN numbers

If the IBAN matches the one your contact sent you, then it means you have sent the money to the right bank account.

If you sent the money to the wrong account 🤭

If numbers don't match your contact's IBAN account number, you would have to get in touch with the bank account holder in order to ask for your money back.

Like any bank or payment app, we cannot cancel transfers once they are done.

However, we ce can help you out solving this issue - feel free to reach out to support@lydia-app.com
